Congratulations to Dr Simon Morris, Newcastle United FC, Dr Paul Catterson, Burnley FC and Ambulance Commander, John Moorhouse on receiving the Fabrice Muamba Award for Outstanding Service to Football Medicine and Performance last night at the North West Football Awards.

The three medical professionals saved the life of former Premier League referee Eddie Wolstenholme, who suffered a critical heart attack and collapsed in the tunnel just an hour before Burnley’s kick off with Newcastle United.

Said Mr Wolstenholme “I feel very fortunate to be here today. It’s thanks to Burnley FC and Newcastle United FC that I’m still here to tell the tale”.
