Safeguarding
All adults and children should be allowed to take part in sport in a safe environment that is protected from abuse. This is the responsibility of every adult involved in sport: whether in paid roles or volunteering. This MPA Diploma topic ‘Safeguarding’, explores the key principles of safeguarding practices and outlines the different welfare issues that can arise for adults and children. It discusses the different types of abuse and how they can present in varied form and, more importantly, examines the key safeguarding concepts of recognition and respond. By the end of the module you should have an improved awareness of the varying safeguarding risks, feel confident in your response and provide best practice to safeguard and protect young people and adults under your care.
The MPA Diploma: Preparing for work in professional football is a unique course designed not only for new graduates and those entering into a professional sporting arena for the first time, but also serves as an excellent refresher course for practitioners already in the game.
