NEW Partnership between FMPA and BASRAT

The Football Medicine and Performance Association (FMPA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the British Association of Sport Rehabilitators (BASRaT).

This exciting collaboration will see the two associations working together to make a commitment to improving standards for our members. BASRaT and FMPA will look for opportunities to contribute, collaborate and educate, including providing CPD events on professional practice when opportunities are identified. Working with FMPA will help BASRaT registered Sport Rehabilitators to provide the highest standards of care for professional footballers.

FMPA CEO, Eamonn Salmon commented: “”A partnership with BASRaT is an exciting development for the Football Medicine and Performance Association (FMPA).

Rehabilitation is a key element of player care and as specialists within this field BASRaT members are an essential component of the multidisciplinary `Team` within the Professional game.

Working together means both Associations can share best practice and liaise and communicate along areas of common interest to both parties. I very much look forward to seeing the relationship prosper.”

Steve Aspinall, BASRaT’s CEO stated “This partnership with the Football Medicine and Performance Association (FMPA) is a valuable and exciting step in working to ensure that players in professional football receive the highest standards of care, now and in the future. BASRaT and our registered Sport Rehabbers are committed to improving player welfare, across all age groups and levels of football, and our work with the FMPA will feed into this.”
