The provision of legal services is perhaps the most important of all the FMPA’s services on behalf of our members. Such is the precarious nature of the football industry that the likelihood of a member losing their position is unbelievably high. The regular turnover of managers, loss of income for a club due to relegation or administration, or simply a ‘change in personnel’ means staff do not enjoy the security of employment so often enjoyed by colleagues in other industries.
Release from a Club is a traumatic experience and at this time your immediate need is to be reassured that you can secure the full and final settlement that you are entitled to.
Members can call the FMPA 24/7 in the event of dismissal and from the very first instance our lawyers will guide you through the process which is finalised with a settlement agreement.

Note; Your Club will insist that the process is overseen by an experienced employment lawyer who can sign off any agreement on your behalf.

Conditional legal services: The full spectrum of legal advice and services are available via our lawyers Enigma Legal who can be contacted via the FMPA office.
FMPA lawyers will assist a member on termination of their contract. Where a member wishes to make a claim directly against a club or pursue a claim to tribunal, please note that this is not covered by the FMPA, but may be negotiated on an independent basis with our lawyers.
